The sacraments are efficacious signs of grace, instituted by Christ and entrusted to the Church, by which divine life is dispensed to us.
- Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1131
Sacraments are outward signs, instituted by Christ that enables us to encounter the living God. We are a Sacramental Church whose lives are formed and fashioned in the faithful celebration of the Sacraments handed on to us by Jesus Christ. "The seven sacraments touch all stages and all important moments of Christian life: they give birth and increase, healing and mission to the Christian's life of faith. There is thus a certain resemblance betweeen the stages of natural life and the stages of spiritual life."
