Volunteers sew blankets which are blessed by a priest and distributed to those who are sick and suffering.
This ministry is for anyone in the parish, and their family members and friends, who are in need of prayer and comfort: someone suffering from a serious illness or the death of a spouse, someone who suffers from depression or addiction, or anyone in need of prayer. In these times of anxiety and suffering, the gift of a prayer blanket assures them that they are covered in prayer by the faith community of Our Lady of Lourdes. Each blanket is sewn by a member of the parish, blessed by our priest for the person in need, and includes special prayers and a letter of encouragement. These blessed blankets are a gift of the parish.
