Austin and his family are currently parishioners at Our Lady of Lourdes and have been active in different ministries during their time here, including weekly adoration and teaching Confirmation class. Austin is a former seminarian for the Diocese of Raleigh. In 2015, he graduated from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia, then studied theology at Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome. While in seminary, he worked with elementary and middle school youth, ministered in nursing homes, and was a tour guide of St. Peter's Basilica. After discerning out of seminary formation, Austin taught Theology at Cardinal Gibbons High School for five years. While at Gibbons, he served as the school sacristan, a Pro-Life ministry moderator, a retreat leader, and an ultimate frisbee coach. Austin is the Director of Youth and Student Apostolate and Sacramental Formation. Austin hopes to provide opportunities for the youth and their families that will lead to a greater love of Jesus Christ and His Church.
