Legion of Mary

This is a worldwide organization in which Catholic men and women sanctify themselves through prayer and spiritual work in union with Our Lady and under the guidance of a priest.
 
Types of work undertaken: visiting shut-ins, hospitals, and nursing homes; visiting families in the parish to foster Catholic devotions; door-to-door evangelization; RCIA sponsorship; religious instruction; and visiting prisoners.
 
Time Commitment: Membership can be active or auxiliary. Active members attend a weekly meeting and perform a weekly work obligation of about two hours. Each day auxiliary members pray the Rosary along with Legion prayers.
