Adults entering the Catholic Church follow a process known as RCIA — the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.
While the Catholic Church is the largest religion in the world, it is sometimes also the most misunderstood.
The beliefs of the Catholic Church and her beautiful teachings are consistent through the ages.
Being a Catholic today means participating in an ancient faith, deeply rooted in the teachings and traditions of Christ, that is filled with hope and vibrancy as we continue to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to all the ends of the earth.
We invite you to join the Parish Family of Our Lady of Lourdes.
We know that life always has ups and downs, twists and turns. Maybe you decided to leave decades ago or maybe it was just this morning. Maybe you never really decided one way or the other, but just sort of drifted away. Maybe you felt burned out or betrayed by an individual who was supposed to represent the Church. Maybe you thought the Church was too full of hypocrites or maybe you thought you were too much of a hypocrite to stay. Whatever your situation, we want it to be very clear that there is a place for you here with us!
What if I am divorced?
We understand that there are many people who shoulder the weight and pain of divorce. Let us help you bear the load. The first step is to contact us and set up an appointment with a priest or deacon. We can help you find healing and closure.
What if I was baptized Catholic, but missed First Communion?
You're not alone! If Catholicism is mostly new to you, it is probably best for you to look at our RCIA program. RCIA stands for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. Please contact us and we can help you find the right program for your situation.
What if I was raised Catholic, but missed Confirmation?
Again, you're not alone! Each year we offer instruction to adults who have been baptized and received Holy Comunion, but have not been confirmed. Contact the Office of Faith Formation for additional information.
