1938
James Joseph and Rosalie W. Fallon donated 20 acres of Anderson Heights land to the Diocese of Raleigh. The second Bishop of Raleigh, the most Reverend Eugene J. McGuinness considered the possible use of the donated land for a future Catholic hospital.
1945
Most Reverend Vincent S. Waters, former Chancellor of the Diocese of Richmond, was consecrated Third Bishop of Raleigh.
1954
Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Elementary School opened two months before the official establishment of the parish. Sister M. Bettina Batchelder, CSC, was appointed its first principal. Sisters of the Holy Cross served on faculty of the school. The first Mass was celebrated on December 5. Most Reverend Vincent S. Waters presided then dedicated the temporary church and school. Reverend Paul Byron preached. Reverend Francis J. Tait was installed as first pastor. Establishment of St. Bernadette Altar Guild.
1955
First patronal feast of the parish was celebrated by Most Reverend Vincent S. Waters and Reverend Michael J. Begley (consecrated Bishop of Charlotte 1971). Convent was completed and sisters moved in after living in the Catholic Orphanage.
1956
First Forty Hours. Rectory was dedicated after living in a rented house for two years.
1957
The first group of nine students graduate from the school.
1960
Establishment of the first layman parish advisory council.
1961
Reverend Michael A. Carey appointed as second pastor.
1965
St. Michael the Archangel, Cary, opened as mission church.
1970
Reverend Francis J. Tait returned as third pastor.
1973
Building campaign began for the dual purpose of erecting a new church and renovating the present building for use as a multi-purpose center.
1975
Most Reverend Francis Joseph Gossman, former Urban Vicar of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, was consecrated fourth Bishop of Raleigh. Sister Mary Agnes, RSM, was appointed Principal of the school. Sisters of Mercy of Belmont served on faculty of the school. First annual union service with Ridge Road Baptist, Highland Methodist and the Raleigh Moravian church.
1976
New church building dedicated.
1978
Reverend Monsignor James E. McSweeney, V.G., appointed as fourth pastor.
1979
Sister Miriam Brosnon, CSC, appointed Principal of the school. Sisters of the Holy Cross served on faculty of the school.
1983
Reverend Raymond Donahue appointed as fifth pastor.
1985
Sister Anne Mary Maline, SND, appointed as Principal of the school. Sisters of Notre Dame served on faculty of the school.
1987
Sister Mary Ronauld Frohnapple, SND, appointed Principal of the school.
1988
Reverend Joseph G. Vetter appointed as sixth pastor.
1989
Very Reverend Jeffrey Ingham, V.F., appointed as seventh pastor.
1993
Fallon Center completed.
1994
40th Anniversary Celebration. Sister Mary Therese Grady, SND, appointed Principal of the school.
1997
Perpetual Adoration Chapel and parish offices dedicated as well as the new school and school office building.
2000
Mrs. Susan Goethals appointed Principal of the school. Reverend Monsignor Tim O'Connor, V.F., appointed as eighth pastor.
2002
Mr. Jim Wortman appointed Principal of the school.
2003
Mrs. Jane Bourbina appointed Principal of the school.
2004
Dr. Robert B. Scripko appointed Principal of the school. Fiftieth anniversary celebration.
2006
Father John J. Forbes is appointed the ninth pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
2012
"Our Lady of Lourdes Dreams" Campaign is launched to raise funds for the new Cathedral project and for church enhancements and a new Parish Recreation Center. Sister Maureen Donati, IHM, appointed Principal of the school.
2014
Sister Maureen Donnali is appointed principal of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School.
2015
The St. Bernadette Center and church expansion were dedicated in March 2015.
2016
Sister Therese Bauer, IHM, named as new principal of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School.
2017
Father Edward Burch becomes Pastoral Administrator.
2018
Father James F. Garneau named 10th Pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
2019
Father Patrick Keane named 11th Pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
