Confirmation:
The evening of your Confirmation has arrived! Do not be late! We'll have your Confirmation certificates waiting for you when Mass is over.
Dress Code for Confirmation:
I want you to imagine what you would wear if you were going to meet the Pope. How would you prepare yourself, what would you wear, who would you invite to come with you? When you arrive on April 26, I want you and your sponsor to look like you are ready to meet the Pope. In fact, our dress code for Confirmation is similar to the dress code for meeting the Pope. Because at your Confirmation, something more incredible is taking place than a meeting with the Pope. You are receiving the Holy Spirit. I still have the picture of me and my friends at our Confirmation. We all wore our Sunday best with a red tie (because red is often associated with the Holy Spirit.)
Gentlemen: Sunday Best: Dress pants, dress shoes, dress shirt (button down shirts with a collar and tucked in). Ties and jackets are encouraged, but optional. Traditionally, white clothing is worn for the sacraments of initiation, so white button downs are encouraged, but not required. (And I definitely wouldn't require a red tie, but it would look good). No jeans, sneakers, sandals, tshirts.
Ladies: You have a few more options but still your Sunday best: Skirt and blouse or dress or nice pants suit and dress shoes. Skirts and dresses should be knee length or longer. Tops and dresses must have sleeves and should not be low cut.(Sweaters can be worn over sleeveless dresses or blouses.) Traditionally, white is worn for the sacraments of initiation, but this is not required. No jeans, sneakers, sandals, tshirts.
